TOO ZDAY

Let's hurry and try to forget about the stock market...

THIS JUST IN:

After I read this, I decided to do a little sleuthing and was able to track down said Air Traffic Controller and get THIS pic:

Not only that, but I also was the first to get an interview (take THAT, Katie Couric).
The transcript went as follows:

ME: So, Mr. Air Traffic Controller, you are all over the news today. How does that make you feel?

HIM: (drools on himself)

ME: Do you have any remorse for sleeping in and causing this incident?

HIM: (sucks on binky)

ME: Have you ever heard of this happening before?

HIM: Glrrph!

ME: Do you know how you will be reprimanded yet?

HIM: (burps)

ME: I have to say, you've been awfully unresponsive during this whole interview.

HIM: (falls asleep)

Well, I guess that pretty much sums it up.

Moving on to today's Iconic birthday....

ERIC STOLTZ!!

And here he is in his best performance:

The obnoxious mime!
Pure genius.

Let's close shop with a weekend memory.

Oh the morning sun in all its glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
And you fill my life with laughter
You can make it better
Ease my troubles that’s what you do

That should keep us for a while.

MUNDANE

Welcome to Monday.
How was the weekend?

Let's recap.

Friday night = no sleep at all.

Saturday night = no sleep at all.

a

Coincidence that both Brooklyn and Bellingham begin with the letter "B"?
I think not.

You know who's from Bellingham, don't you?

YES, that is correct!
The Posies!
One of the great Seattle bands that never quite reached the meteoric stardom they deserved.

And just north of Bellingham, a band just shy of The Posies stature....

And the result?

But it didn't happen without consequences.

Well I think we can all agree that was totally uncalled for.

Sunday = grilled cheese, Pepsi and lively conversation.

I'm not sure what any of this means.

Let's close with today's Iconic birthday.....

SUNDAE

Well, this particular blogger rawked hard last night and early into this morning.....
As a result, I'm tired.

SAT UR DAY!

The weekend is upon us!
Do you know where your blogger is?

Today's celebrity sighting:

NEIL YOUNG!!

He was easily recognizable with the sideburns and all....
He was spotted on the corner of Denny and Fairview. I provided a handy map for a visual.

Naturally, I immediately pulled over my maserati company car....

And snagged THIS interview:

ME: Neil Young!

NEIL: Hello.

ME: So, you are known as the Godfather of Grundge, true?

NEIL: Keep on rockin' in the free world!

ME: Is that a yes?

NEIL: Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you

ME: huh?

NEIL: I wanna live with the cinnamon girl

ME: I think I need to go

NEIL: Long may you run

Well there you have it.
Neil Young is nuts.

Well, I gotta run.
Big gig in Bellingham tonight.

See you at the show!

That means YOU, Nich.

FR.EMU.DAY

THIS JUST IN:

That's right. Just as I predicted in a blog long ago.
EMUs WILL WREAK HAVOC!!

Don't say I never warned you.

ANYWAY

Happy Birthday T.S. Eliot!

And quite the handsome fella he is.

He's actually about a half step away from:

Well that even creeps ME out.

ANYWAY

One of my all time most favoritest poems of ALL TIME was penned by Mr. Eliot.

Uh....close enough. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock!

And if I ever meet this girl, I will marry her immediately:

Unless of course, I see THIS girl first:

ANYWAY

Who the heck is this Mr. J. Prufrock anyway?
I came across this picture in the national archives:

And if you see him with an emu, RUN!

Oh....and see you all in Bellingham this weekend for the return of yours truly to the rock world!

I GO THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD

If I could be any part of you, I’d be your tears.

To be conceived in your heart,

born in your eyes,

live on your cheeks

and die on your lips.

She's as sweet as tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree

She's as sweet as tupelo honey
Just like honey baby, from the bee

MUPPETDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM HENSON!

And the weird coincidence is that it's also the birthday of Steve Whitmire!

WHO? You may ask.....he took over the voice of Kermit after Jim Henson's passing......

If anyone out there has a birthday today, you have an excellent chance to voice one of the muppets!

UNFORTUNATELY, the muppet family has gone considerably downhill since Mr. Henson left us....

Does anyone remember Nessie the muppet?

How about Gordon, the human muppet?

Ever seen THIS muppet?

Yeah. Me either.

Then there was THIS muppet. I don't think it lasted long.

How about the failed Baldwin Muppet?

They actually had a little success with Kermit Springsteen.

ALERT!!

I just saw on Inside Edition that the muppets are rebelling against their creators!

NEW UPDATES AS THEY COME

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

MUNDAY

So here's what Mr. T is up to lately:

Just thought I'd share.

Now on to today's Iconic birthday....

That's right! Chachi!

Here he stars in Charles in Charge

Oh wait. Sorry. I forgot Charles in Charge is where I first fell in love with Nicole Eggert. My bad.

Sorry....this is all getting a little too racy for a Monday family blog.

Perhaps if we use our handy time machine to go back to the beginning of this entry...
